Editor’s Note: The Blessed Family of Rasul’Allah صلي الله عليه واله وسلم
Allah Subuhanahu wa ta’Ala has blessed us all by giving us the gift of Islam. We turn to Him in submission, compliance, and love. But this was made possible by the sadaqah of Rasul’Allah صلي الله عليه واله وسلم . He suffered for us, bled for us, and wept for us. The compassion he, صلي الله عليه واله وسلم , showed for us is indescribable and only brings tears to our eyes when we try to imagine all that he had done, and is doing for us. After blessing us with the holy Qur’an, our beloved Sayyidina Habib’Allah صلي الله عليه واله وسلم left us with another connection to our Creator. He left us his blessed family.
In the Hadith of the Month, also known as Hadith Al-Thaqalayn, Rasul’Allah صلي الله عليه واله وسلم narrarated that he left us with two things that if we hold onto them, we will never go astray. Those two were the Majestic Qur’an, and the Holy family of Sayyidina Mustafa صلي الله عليه واله وسلم . The family of Rasul’Allah صلي الله عليه واله وسلم is also know as the Ahlayl Bayt, as this is how Allah referred to them in the Majestic Qur’an in surah Al-Azhab ayat number 33. The special ones of the Ahlayl Bayt includes our beloved Prophet صلي الله عليه واله وسلم , Hadrat Ali , Bibi Fatimah, Imam Hasan, and Imam Hussain Radi’Allahu ‘Anhum.
When Rasul’Allah صلي الله عليه واله وسلم left us such an important connection to Allah Azawajal, it becomes incumbent upon us to appreciate, learn about, and love them. Their status is further exemplified by the fact that our prayer to Allah is not even valid until we recite blessings upon the Ahlayl Bayt as we do in Durood-e-Ibraheemi. We should ponder over this and try to establish our connection to the Ahlayl Bayt and Sahaba so we can learn how to live our lives in the manner Rasul’Allah صلي الله عليه واله وسلم did and in a manner that will ultimately bring us closer to Allah, our Creator, our Sustainer, our Rabb Subahanhu wa ta’Ala. May Allah Azawajal bless the Holy Family, Ahlayl bayt, and exalt their status beyond our comprehension.
